Willie Lee Jackson

Deacon Willie Lee Jackson 82 of Charlotte NC passed away peacefully on August 15,2025 surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 27,1943 in Spartanburg South Carolina to Bridie Lee Jackson and Wilbert Lee Jackson. Willie lived a life full of love, kindness, and strength. From an early age, Willie carried a spirit that drew others close, leaving an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Willie built a beautiful life grounded in family and faith. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 45 years Merita Jackson and birthed 6 beautiful children with Haley Jackson who also preceded him in death,

Throughout his career as a Concrete Finisher at Virginia Concrete, he worked with dedication leaving behind not only a legacy of hard work but also compassion and integrity. Beyond his career he found happiness in being a Mechanic and Gardening, he also found joy in serving as a Deacon at Soul Saving Center in Washington DC. He loved traveling or simply spending time with family, especially with his sisters.

He is preceded in death by his son Matthew Jackson of Spartanburg SC, two sisters Dorothy Cleveland of Alexandria Virginia and Isabell Ellison of Spartanburg SC.

Left to cherish memories are five sons Robert Lee Jackson of Spartanburg SC, Willie John Jackson of Spartanburg SC. Toney Jackson (Jeanette) of Gaffney SC, John Wilbur Jackson (Tracey) of Spartanburg SC, Xavier Justice (Robin) of Washington DC. one daughter of the home Annie Jackson of Charlotte NC. and one stepdaughter Paulette Wilkins of Atlanta Ga. Two brothers Alfred Jackson (Patsy) of Spartanburg SC. and Clarence Jackson (Sue) of Nanjemoy Maryland, two sisters Susie Ellis of Spartanburg SC. and Lillie Briggs of Spartanburg SC.

He also leaves his cherished love to Qareem and Quran Jackson of the home, 20 grandchildren and 26 greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
