On Saturday, June 8, 2024, our dearly beloved “Motha”/ “Ola Mae,” was graciously
called to her heavenly home at her residence.
Ola, fondly known by her family and friends as “Motha” or “Ola Mae,” was a beloved
mother, devoted wife, cherished sister, and esteemed member of the Fosters Chapel
Baptist Church.
Ola was born on April 16, 1935, to the late James Milton and Addie Bivings Meadows in
Moore, South Carolina, where she resided until her passing.
Ola was married to the late MSG (Ret.) Joseph M. Alexander. Together, they were
blessed with five children: Deborah Rogers (deceased Willie James Rogers) of Moore,
South Carolina, Rhonda “Wendy” Alexander of Breman, Georgia, James Lydell
Alexander (Cassandra) of Duncan, South Carolina, Linda Jacqueline Alexander
(deceased), and Reverend Dexter Alexander (Sherry) of Atlanta, Georgia, and one
great-nephew, James Williams, whom she reared in the home. Ola loved her family
dearly, as each and everyone of them were all a part of her joy; as she would say at the
family gatherings, “I Love EVERYBODY.”
Ola Mae leaves behind five siblings: Bernice Brown (deceased Frank) of Moore, South
Carolina, Alice Rowland (deceased Clarence, Jr.) of Moore South Carolina, Johnnie
O’Neal Fulwood of Columbia, South Carolina, Linda Ezell (deceased Rev. JR Ezell) of
Moore, South Carolina, and Michael Keith Meadows (Linda) of Moore, South Carolina;
24 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Ola loved the Lord and was a faithful Fosters Chapel Baptist Church member. Mrs.
Alexander united with Fosters Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. She was the
President of the Missionary Ministry, Intermediate Sunday School Class, Senior Ministry,
Do-Re-Mi Choir, Pleasant Falls Sympathy Club, and Roberta Liberty Chapter #133
Order of the Eastern Star (OES) during her church tenure.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Milton and Addie Bivings Meadows;
siblings, James Webber “JW” Meadows, Brady Branson, Jo Ann Meadows, and Grover
Lewis; and one daughter, Linda Jacqueline Alexander.
Her vibrant presence and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
