JOHN ARTHUR HUNTER

John Arthur (Bug) Hunter Died April 28, 2023, He was the son of the late Dea. John Arthur Hunter Sr, and Mrs. Annie Pearl Woodruff Hunter. He was born on July 30,1962 in Spartanburg County. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Thelma Jean Harris Hunter for 17 1/2 years.

John was a member of Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist church. He attended House of Deliverance where he served as co-chair of the kitchen committee.

He was a 1980 graduate of James F Byrnes High School. Were he was a member of the rebel basketball team. John served his country for 6 years in the United States Army and Army reserve. He was an avid Pittsburgh steelers fan and he absolutely loved fishing and hunting.

Left to cherish found memories are; four children in love, Kendrick Harris and Jewell Harris Johnson of Spartanburg SC, Shannon Lawarence of Glassboro, New Jersey and Tirun Shannon of Raleigh NC. His siblings, Stanley Hunter Sr. (Tammy), Everett Hunter and Mabel (Michael) Murphy all of Spartanburg, Sc; his mother-in-law, Betty Jo Glenn of Spartanburg Sc; his brother-in-law. George (Larhonda) Harris of Boiling Springs Sc, and Reginald Harris of Spartanburg, Sc; his sisters in law Teresa Young of Wellford, Sc, Georgia Harris Rice of Spartanburg, Sc and Kimberly (Brian) Garner of Cartersville, Georgia seven grandchildren, two close friends, Eddie Sexton and Shannon Kirkland, a host of nieces, nephews. cousins and friends, He was proceeded in death by one brother Rev.Curtis Hunter, his maternal grandparents, Robert Woodruff and Beatrice Mitchell Woodruff and his paternal grandparents willie Hunter and Ethel Gillim Hunter.
